Hey @leggylav, we have acquired a cheapie blade grinder! Hamilton Beach brand. https://www.target.com/p/hamilton-beach-coffee-grinder-black-80410/-/A-86409139
We were originally gonna get a Bodum one (https://www.target.com/p/bodum-c-mill-electric-coffee-grinder/-/A-89080390) for about the same price, but while it's much nicer looking aesthetically, it didn't have a removable grindy cup.
@IceWolf the removable cup is totes nice for cleaning. hope it works well it'll be a lil less consistent than a burr grinder, but for an aeropress i think you should be fine there once you dial it in
@leggylav oh awesome, thanks! That makes me feel better about going for this one instead of the Bodum.
Just woke up, can't wait to try it out this morning!
@leggylav ... Wow first cup was INCREDIBLY sour. Way worse than preground even.
@leggylav Second cup I tried not getting out the superfines, and steeping it for a minute before pressing, and it was bitter instead of sour I think! Progress!
It's a bit of a pain to wipe the grinder out. Maybe we should have gotten a cheap $10 noname hand burr grinder off ebay.
@leggylav I am also very, very glad we got the one with the removable grindy cup!
Apparently it takes the whole blade assembly with it, which is good; I was worried only half of the bowl would separate, leaving a hole in the bottom where the grounds would fall out. Nope.
I bet if we had a hex socket wrench we could remove the blade, too!
also @Tvorsk, I can't remember if we were talking to you about coffee, but I got us a cheap grinder! (First picture upthread.)
